Fun Stuff

Yesterday, I took Heath to EdVenture where we met up with some cousins. Obviously, Heath is much too young to have participated in all of the fun, but it was a really neat place and I enjoyed going and seeing all of the activities they have for kids. It will be so fun to take him when he is a little bit older.

Saturday is Ryan's 27th Birthday!!! Yay :)

We will be heading down to Charleston for the weekend to celebrate this special day with a fishing trip for him and his dad and King st. for me and his mom (and Heath) while they are fishing.

I absolutely looovee going to Charleston, just to walk around and peek into all the neat shops.

He already got his birthday present. It is the new blackberry tour. He actually go it a week or two ago b.c he lost his curve (it was later found). Its a really nice phone and is a lot faster than the curve. I am still planning to get him a little something more, but that will be a secret until Saturday!

What a Weekend

What a GREAT weekend!! First, I planted my planter and got the stones for our path laid. I also painted our front door and our Adirondack chairs. I think our entrance looks so much better and I am so pleased that everything got done!

Annd, since my mom was in town, I also got to have a girls nightout. We went to dinner and then watch The Ugly Truth. It was such a great time laughing and sharing stories with them!

Then on Sunday, me, my sister, my mom, and Heath drove to Greenville to take my mom home and I got to see my aunt and uncle! We had a great lunch and got to catch up with everyone.
I am also super proud of Ryan!! He had a great time with some friends and had some good luck... He caught a beautiful sail on his fishing trip!

Saturday Inspiration

Ok so tomorrow afternoon Ryan is headed to Charleston for an all day fishing trip that is happening on Sunday, and I am going to stay in Columbia. I'm really excited to get some items checked off my extensive TO DO LIST. I am pretty psyched to be able to work out in the yard without interruptions since my wonderful parents will be in town from Greenville and they will be able to watch Heath.
My plans for tomorrow include making a container garden for the front entrance to our house, laying a pathway to our door out of stone, pulling weeds and edging our flower beds in the front of the house, replacing some of the flowers in the beds, and other general tidying of our yard-front and back. Phew! It makes me tired just thinking of everything that I want to get done, but it will all be worth the hard work. I have posted some pictures of inspiration for tomorrow activities!

House Dreams

Recently, Ryan and I have been itching to move into a bigger house. The one that we are in right now is on the small side that Ryan bought before we met and I moved into after we got married. We have done a lot to it since I have moved in (can I just mention that it was a TOTAL bachelor pad), especially in getting ready for Heath's arrival. We totally gutted our kitchen so that we could add more counterspace, nicer cabinets, & a new sink and fixtures. We did this all in preparation for being able to get a better return once we do sell.

We also own the house next door to our current residence that we bought for flipping purposes. We have had it for about five months and it is getting close to being done..well closer. It was in a not so nice condition and sweet husband has been working really hard to get it up for sale. I was helping a good bit on it while I was pregnant, but have not had so much time to help since baby has come. Anyways, after the house next door sells, then hopefully we can put ours up to and be able to afford a house that meets most of our criteria.

Our wish list for a new house includes: staying in the downtown area, yet still in a nice area with good schools, at least two bathrooms, at least three bedrooms, a house that is not on or very close to a main/busy road (we have 2 dogs), and a bigger yard for Heath to play in.

I will post some before and after pictures of the house next door soon.

The beginning of my blog!

This is my first blog post and I am really excited. I have been wanting to do this for a while and have been reading other blogs to get kind of an idea of what they are all about. I thought that this would be a great time in my life to start a blog because it will help chronicalize being a new mother to a 2 1/2 month old little boy and being the wife of a fisherman.
