Bathroom Blues

Ryan and I have been wanting to do some thing to our bathroom, such as retile the baby blue shower tiles. So on Sunday, he started to scrape out the old caulk in order to recaulk... anyways, while he was doing this a tile came loose, so he decided to go ahead and take some more off. Well behind the tile was wood that the previous owner had installed, which of course was rotting, and has to be replaced as well. So now instead of just retiling, he has to replace the wood, put up durrock(which is like drywall except it wont rot when it gets wet) replace all of the shower fixtures, retile, and glaze the tub. whew! what a job. He is such an amazing repair man and i am so thankful that he knows how to/likes to do this kind of stuff!

R.I.P.

Yesterday, our poor little computer died. We got the unfortunate "blue screen of death" after only two months. TWO MONTHS!!! So, off we headed back to Best Buy where we we told them our problem.. We were so nervous b.c their return policy is only good for 14 days. However, since nothing could be done by the "geek squad" the wonderful manager let us swap our crap computer for a brand new one! Yay. I mean how lucky is that? So Now we have a brand new computer again, the only problem is that all of our pictures are on the old one and they can't be resurrected :( soo.....

#1 on my TO DO list is making a photobucket or snapfish account where i will never have to worry about another picture loss.

OUCH!!

This morning, we all went out to breakfast, and then we took Heath to a state park. It was really nice out-but kind of hot- so we didn't stay too long. When we got back home, Ryan went next door to work on the house and I took Heath to his grandma's so we could hang out. We had a really nice time and I got a great nap in!! Then, when I woke up, Holly (my mother-in-law) handed me the phone....Ryan was on the other end and told me "Come home quick-I put a hole thru my finger with the nail gun."

With that, I left Heath at Grandma's and drove home to check out the damage. He was using a framing nailer to build a wall inside the house when the nail shot thru his finger and came out the other side! OMG he was hurting so bad. I immediately thought that we should go to the ER, but after much hydrogen peroxide and making sure he could bend it, we decided to just wait for the Dr. to see him tomorrow....I hope everything will be ok and that it won't get infected or anything. Good thing he has had a recent Tetanus....

Date Night!

Ryan surprised me with a wonderful dinner date night. His parents babysat for us while we went to a rooftop bar for drinks, then a restaurant in the vista for a dinner of delish filet's and more drinks, then we went for a few more drinks at a local burger place. We had such a great time spending time together, kind of like how it was before baby....we also realized how much we missed Heath by the time we got home.

I bought Heath's exersaucer today, too. He LOVES it! He is soo fascinated with all of the colors and sounds. I am really excited because he can hang out with us while still learning and developing all of his senses.

Tomorrow, my sister Sheaffer, Heath, and I are heading to Greenville to help "stage" the house for my mom and dad. They are flying in from Bordeaux, France from their vacation and, to much surprise, my dad has no idea that my mom is getting a screened porch put on the back of their house. Sooo, that is what we get to go decorate tomorrow, plus pick up Saluda, the dog, from the boarders, and hopefully cook a 'welcome home' dinner for them! I can't wait to see what the new room looks like!!

Soo Big!

Today, Heath turns 12 weeks old!! I can't believe how fast he has grown. Yesterday, for the first time, he rolled over! I just put him on the play mat on his stomach for some tummy time and he rolled right back over onto his back! I didn't think he would do it again so I put him back on his tummy and it happend again. Then I ran to get Ryan so that he could watch, and guess what. Heath did it a third time. So I definately know now that it is on purpose and not just a fluke!

He is also growing by leaps and bounds! He is fitting well into three month clothing, so I am thinking about the fall and about the clothes that he will need since he is growing out of a lot of his summer ones.

Heath is also starting to "bat" at objects, study his hands, and pull my hair! He can also follow his mobile with his eyes and is even paying attention to the illustrations in books. Ryan and I think that we need a "play station" for our living room so that he can hang out with us out there more. I was thinking a exersaucer would be good since it would help to strengthen his legs and he could play with the toys that are on it.

This weekend we went to Charleston to celebrate Ryan's 27th birthday. We had a really great time down there. Ryan, his dad, and some buddies went fishing on Saturday, while Holly (Ryan's mom), Heath, and I went shopping! We had really good luck on King St. and found exactly what we were looking for, and the boys came home with some fish!
